About ShoppingNearMe.com
ShoppingNearMe.com is the fastest way to get from “where’s the nearest one?” to the store itself. Tap a category or search a name, and we send you straight to that retailer’s own official store locator, where hours, addresses and directions are kept current. No sign-up, no ads in the way, no tracking.
Our motto is simple: support local businesses and shop in person, like your parents used to do. Walking into a store lets you see and touch what you’re buying, take it home today, ask a real person for advice, and make returns without a shipping label. It also keeps your neighbors employed.
Why shopping local matters
Small businesses are most businesses. According to the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of Advocacy, small businesses make up 99.9% of all U.S. firms — 36.2 million of them — and employ 62.3 million people, or 45.9% of private-sector workers. They account for about 43.5% of U.S. GDP. (SBA Office of Advocacy, Frequently Asked Questions About Small Business, 2026)
Local dollars stay local. In its Indie Impact Study Series, the research firm Civic Economics found that independent retailers recirculated about 48% of their revenue in the local economy, compared with about 14% for national chain retailers; for restaurants it was roughly 65% versus 30%. That money flows to local wages, local suppliers and local charities. (Civic Economics, Indie Impact Study Series; see also the American Independent Business Alliance on the local multiplier effect)
In-person shopping supports your community either way. Even a national chain’s neighborhood store employs local people and anchors the shopping districts where independent shops thrive. Use ShoppingNearMe.com to find the big names quickly, then take a minute to visit the independent shops next door too.
